SBS 80 - Sengkang via Harbourfront ( 80 transports mainly Hougang and Sengkang residents to city many areas such as lavender, north south bridge, tanjong pagar, telok blangah and harbourfront. bus frequency ok, double decker range)
SMRT 171 - Yishun via Marina Centre (171 travels from yishun serving camp personnel of Khatib Camp, Air Base, Yishun Camp, and also serving yishun and sembawang, bukit panjiang resident to bukit timah areas and marina centre. bus is non bendy and frequency ok.)
SBS 168 - Bedok via Woodlands (168 is the odd one double decker sbs transit situated in Woodlands regional int, and use two expressway to travel to and for,bus is idea for bedok and Tampines residents travelling to Woodlands for work.)
SMRT 950 -Woodlands via Kotaraya II Terminal (950 travel from woodlands and drive around woodlands centre road making it easier for woodlands residents and give another choice for singapore passengers to travel to jb faster and easier, up till now the only smrt bus that travel out of lion city)
SBS 183 - Jurong East via Teletech Park (183 travel to two main remote work place Toh Guan Industries and Singapore Science Park 2, it is the only bus that travel inside these two places. Extremely crowded during morning and evening before and after work. bus features is single storey.)
SBS 174 - Boon Lay via New Bridge (174 service Boon Lay, Bukit Batok residents to city area such as Bras Basah, Orchard, Chinatown. Bus is more double decked and frequency ok. )
SMRT 985 - Chua Chu Kang via Geylang Lorong 1 (985 serve mainly CCK and Bukit Batok residents to Toa Payoh and Geylang, bus is non bendy)
SBS 73 - Ang Mo Kio via Toa9 Payoh (73 is serving both amk tpy residents to both places although mrt can be reached easily. bus is looping at tpy interchange )
SBS 23 - Tampines via Aft Sim Lim Square (23 serve tampines and bedok north resident to serangoon road and rochor canal bugis area, it is also travelled by Temasek poly students. bus is double decked and is crowded during morning and evening before and after work hours)
SMRT 167 - Sembawang via Bukit Merah (167serve sembawang, jalan bukit merah and upper thomson resident to many landmark place such as city areas such as raffles, orchard. and also camps in sembawang. bus is crowded mostly)
SBS 165 - Hougang via Clementi (165 serve Ang Mo Kio,Hougang and Clementi residents to and for to thomson, adam and farrer road and it is mostly seen double decker, clementi being the more longer interchange)

SMRT 189 - Bukit Batok via Kent Ridge Terminal (189 serve West Coast resident from work to Clementi MRT, bus is crowded during peak hours and also to Bukit Batok residents to West Coast and Clementi)

SBS 8 - Tampines via Toa Payoh (8 services tampines and toa payoh resident to each other places and also to Macpherson industries. Using also by expressway, bus service 8 hold double decker most of the time.
SMRT 922 - Bukit Panjang via Fajar (loop) (922 services Bukit Panjang residents areas such Senja,Jelapang,Segar,Fajar and Bangkit, bus frequency is extremely low and have to wait long for a bus to come. is packed at rush hours. )
SBS 156 - Sengkang via Clementi (156 travel ulu pandan, holland village, bukit timah and sengkang area transporting passengers to places. this service is single decked and frequency is ok)
SBS 27 - Hougang via Changi Airport (27 transport hougang sengkang resident express to the airport by using expressway)
SMRT 857 - Yishun via Suntec City (857 let yishun, yio chu kang and bendermeer resident travel to the city more convieniently , landmarks include THE ESPLANDE, TEKKA CENTRE)
SBS 111 - Ghim Moh via Marina Centre (111 travel on the east west line mrt from buona vista and carry passengers from the west commonwealth queenstown ghim moh to city areas convienently)
SBS 160 - Jurong East via Kotaraya II Terminal JB (160 goes from jurong east to jb in a more conienent ways than 170 and does not go to woodlands centre road, it travel to customs singapore and straight on to kotaraya)
SMRT 963 - Woodands via Harbourfront (963 transports resident from woodlands, bukit panjang, bukit bato, west coast resident to landmarks places such as NUH, ALEXANDRA, HARBOURFRONT. Bus is extremely crowded and low on rush hours. need large improvement.)
SBS 28 - Tampines via Toa Payoh (28 travel long distance from tamp to tpy and it interchange same with bus no 8. it transport bedok, tampines , tpy residents to and forth. )
SBS 132 - Hougang via Bukit Merah (132 travel from hougang, ang mo kio and thomson area to tanglin, tiong bahru and henderson. bus is mostly double deck though there are some single deck.)
SMRT 172 - Choa Chu Kang via Boon Lay (172 travel routes ulu, pass through Sunshine Place and also to many military places and cemetery, then to jalan bahar and to Boon Lay)
SBS 52 - Bishan via Jurong East (52 transport bishan, clement, passengers to and forth to location and bus is crowded at peak hours and is single decked)
SBS 175 - Clementi via Geylang Lor 1 (bus travel from clementi and to geylang lor 1 by west coast then to victoria street, peak hours is ok and bus is single decked)
SMRT NR3 - Choa Chu Kang via North Canal Road (loop) transport night passengers from central city areas to north west areas in CCK, BP.
SBS 48 - Bedok North Depot via Buona Vista(bus travel from both way and exits from ECP to rochor, fu lu shou areas, bus in conivenent in reaching from east to west areas and is single decked)
SBS 6 - Pasir Ris via Admiralty (Loop) Bus operates on weekdays and saturday half day where sunday and ph there is no sbs6 service. Mostly landmark place is schools and factories, offices. Most frequent is not that often.
SMRT 858 - Woodlands via Changi Airport PTB2 (858 transport passengers from woodlands, yishun and sembawang fast to Changi airport.)
SBS 255 - Boon Lay via Gul Crescent (Loop) (255 mainly travel by passenger going to work in Gul areas Gul Cresent, Gul Circle, Gul Ave, Gul Way industries and those living in Pioneer areas)
SBS 32 - Bedok via Buona Vista (bus route from east to west and along katong,east coast road food delicacy and also to city areas such as north bridge road.)
SMRT 77 - Bukit Batok via Marina Centre (travel from Bukit Batok and along Bukit Timah Road to city areas, bus frequency should be increase.Mainly single bus)
SBS - 197 Bedok via Jurong East ( bus travel route from bedok , marine parade, north and south bridge and bukit merah, jurong town hall road. bus is usually double decked and been serving with jurong east for long years, )
SBS 3 - Tampines via Punggol (bus mainly is single decked and serve the residents of Tampines, Pasir Ris and Punggol residents, mostly in the housing vincinty of the east, the first bus 3 operated at jurong east in the 1980s)
SMRT 177 - Bukit Panjang via Bukit Batok (bus operate only on weekdays Morning and Evening rush hours and serving short distance only. )
SBS 13 - Yio Chu Kang via Upper East Coast( serving east side resident to Bendermeer, Kallang, Lavender and bus is usually both types. )
SBS 124 - St Michael's via Telok Blangah Dr (loop)( this bus service is single deck and serve Balestier areas to Orchard, Chinatown to the west side around Telok Blangah. Bus frequency is ok.)
SMRT 180 - Bukit Panjang via Boon Lay (180 services for Bukit Panjang residents to and forth Boon Lay for easier way and especially for workers working in Jurong areas, bus is crowded on rush hours and bendy bus.)
SBS 154 - Boon Lay via Eunos (this service mostly on double decker and travel from west to east, serving Boon Lay residents, Clementi and to Macpherson and Eunos)
SBS 99 - Clementi via Jurong West St 91 (Loop) ( this bus service between clementi, jurong east and jurong west and is busy with residents and students. Bus is extremely crowded and need to improve on frequency. Landmark is Boon Lay Shopping Centre)
SBS 10 - Tampines via Kent Ridge (Bus route is long travelling from the east to the west, serving tampines, central district and west coast resident. bus is more of double decked and been serving this line since 80's)

Straight to Larkin after Malaysia checkpoint.)

SBS196 - Bedok via Clementi (Serving East West resident double decker bus. In the 80's was terminating to Marine Parade instead of Bedok. Major landmarks are Parkway Parade, Bukit Merah Town Centre, Dover Schools.....taking this bus included many students from Dover.)
SMRT960 - Woodlands via Marina Centre ( Serving Woodlands and Bukit Panjang residents to city by BKE,PIE. Major landmarks includes KK Women and Children Hospital, Tekka Mall, Bugis, Raffles Hotel. Bus is crowded on weekdays rush hours. )

THIS WEEKEND -- NEW YORK (last ep)
NORTH SOUTH LINE (TOA PAYOH) -- known as Swampy Lake and was the 2nd satelite town in singapore before. Toa Payoh became the HDB hub in the year of 2002 whereHDB main office moved from Bukit Merah to here. Toa Payoh also housed the aircon bus interchange and many elderly still lives here. It is once famous for Toa Payoh Demon Adrian, Near to the city area and also has swimming pool, safra, stadium.
INDONESIA (BATAM) -- a city that is famous for its nightlife and watersports. It also uses the same currency as singapore and everyday ferry from tanah merahand harbourfront to batam.
NORTH SOUTH LINE ( NOVENA & NEWTON) -- Novena is famous for its nearby pirvate residences and its new refurnished mall, VELOCITY. Newton is around bukit timah road and dunearn area and also famous for its newton food circus where you can find barbequed chicken wings, satay, popiah, oyster omette.
PAULA UBIN (Singapore) -- Puala Ubin is a small island under Singapore, and previously there was a Bin Kiang Primary School which closed down already. Puala Ubin is now popular with hiking and taking a break from the hectic city. There is a new set up nature walk, and previosly it was a granite place and travellers can just buy a ticket for around a dollar to two from Changi Jetty and sail to Ubin.
NORTH SOUTH LINE (ORCHARD) -- Main shopping in Singapore, got it name Orchard that had nutmeg orchards alongs it way in 1830s, different exits lead you to different parts of orchard shopping, it is also linked to ION Orchard, Wisma Atria, Wheellock place, Takashimaya Ngee Ann City. This station is always crowd especially during christmas and new year eve. More new shopping malls like Orchard Central also add in the shopping paradise.
Special edition (TANJONG PAGAR KTM RAILWAY STATION) -- Tanjong Pagar railway station; Malay: Stesen Keretapi Tanjong Pagar), also called Keppel Road railway station or Singapore railway station, was a railway terminus owned by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), the main railway operator in Malaysia. The main building of the railway station was gazetted as a national monument on 9 April 2011 KTM runs six daily KTM Intercity services between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. It also runs several other services between Singapore and other parts of Peninsular Malaysia such as Kelantan state in the northeast. KTM also operates a shuttle service between Johor Bahru and Singapore for the benefit of those commuting to Singapore for work.
NORTH SOUTH LINE (SOMERSET & DHOBY GHAUT) -- Somerset station was once beside the Singapore Power Supply Building, now it major attractions is 313 Somerset , Dhoby Ghuat is the interchange for north south, north east, circle line, Plaza Singapura is now the major shopping complex around here and previously Yaohan occupy here, then Daimaru till now....
TAIWAN (KAOSHIUNG) Part 1,2,3 and 4 - Travel to Kaoshiung MTR with its red and orange line and explore just a few minutes walks away from Place of interest and delicious food.
NORTH SOUTH LINE (MARINA BAY) -- Marina Bay MRT Station (NS27/CE2) is the southern terminal station of the North South Line in Singapore. In the future, this station will serve businessmen & office workers who work in the up and coming New Downtown LINE. Also a future station for linking Harbourfront station and Circle Line.
NORTH EAST LINE (HARBOURFRONT) -- Harbourfront is the end or start station for north east line. The place was once called WORLD TRADE CENTRE, as passengers travelling for cruise or ships will apart from here. For visiting to resorts world sentosa, harbourfront is the place linking rws.It also had the largest shopping mall, VIVOCITY and bus interchange plus the Seah Inn hawker centres.
NORTH EAST LINE (CHINATOWN) -- Inside the heart of Chinatown, this station directly leads you outside Singapore top attraction.It links either to Padoga Street or People Park Complex outside. It is always crowded especially with tourists, and here you can find your favourite in the hawker centres or your favourite shopping at Chinatown Point, People Park Centre, Lucky Chinatown.
NORTH EAST LINE (CLARE QUAY) -- it links out of hong lim park which is an open park for speech and special events. Also main exit is by THE CENTRAL. NORTH EAST LINE ( LITTLE INDIA AND FARRER PARK) --little india you can exit and head into the heart of india. Stretch along the whole streets and housing dowstairs shop, they sell from provisions to clothes. Beside there is a famous Tekka Mall , now called THE VERGE. farrer park mrt lead to the first eco singapore shopping mall City Square Mall and just cross a traffic light is the 24hrs Mustafa Centre where u can find many things all in one roof.
NORTH EAST LINE (BOON KENG AND POTONG PASIR) -- Boon Keng MRT is within the area of Kallang River and is solely for housing estates in the areas. Potong Pasir MRT name is fought hard awhen the govt decide to named it Senette becuz of the opposition party previously since 1982 when Chiam See Tong is in charge. However due to protest from resident, it remained Potong Pasir. This station lies along Potong Pasir ave 1 and make it travel to other areas smoothly. Potong Pasir remains a style of kampung 80s.
NORTH EAST LINE ( WOODLEIGH AND KOVAN) -- Woodleigh former is a cemtery site and completed with the north east line construction but opened only june to public this year. Kovan areas included Heartland Mall, and many private residential areas as well as HDB.
NORTH EAST LINE - (HOUGANG)-- Hougang remains as a opposition party till now. Worker''s Party had been defending its base and hougang lives Teochew chinese mostly and in the past. Low Thia Kiang fellow party member in this area. Hougang house mainly HDB and some condos. Amenties included Hougang Mall, Hougang Market place. It has a independent style and will be it always.
NORTH EAST LINE (BUANGKOK and SENGKANG)-- Buangkok is station located on the North East Line of the Mass Rapid Transit in Singapore. The station is in Sengkang and near to Hougang and serves residents in the vicinity. Sengkang MRT station also housed LRT for residents in Sengkang new housing.Also there is a compass point for shopping entertainment. There is also a Sengkang bus interchange for SBS Transit.
NORTH EAST LINE (PUNGGOL) -- Punggol is the end line of north east line station and also serve Punggol LRT line. Punggol 21 was established to build more new houses in Punggol. However, Punggol only shopping mall is only Punggol plaza near to another Punggol LRT station. Houses are seen more in this areas.

PASIR RIS - new town which means sand quarry in malay. Previously it was a Malay kampong with sand filled for buiding of HDB flats. Main attractions include Downtown East, Pasir Ris Park, White Sand Shopping Centre, Gallop Stable, Fisherman Village, Loyang Point, Elias Mall......Living in Pasir Ris tend to be cool like a holiday resort, drop down to EW1 Pasir Ris
TAMPINES - a new town fully developed in the 1990s with furnished HDB paints housing estate. Shopping centres include Tampines Mall, Century Square and 3 tietiary colleges. A place where the genius live and the offspring will be clever and smart. A way further is the Bedok Reservoir Park where u can take a stroll there, major outdoors event are also held here.
SIMEI and TANAH MERAH - Simei name originally from the Chinese 4 ancient beauty, its facilties include a East Point Mall ( Pet Safari - shopping for pets needs, NTUC....) for residents living in Simei, for resident living in Simei tend to have health and relationship problem as it fengshui met the butterfly angle. TANAH MERAH was once a fishing village, it malay meaning means Red Soil, because of it history of hilly cliffs, mostly private housing. Also now a water sports centre such as Tanah Merah Country Club and Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.
EXPO and CHANGI AIRPORT - expo halls which housed mega exhitbition and meetings and is accessible via Tanah Merah Mrt station. Changi Airport link to different countries worldwide by boarding a plane after u take the MRT out. Famous restaurants, shoppings and the duty free liqour will made the tourist spend their money first. Include 3 terminals and a modern skytram to link the whole of Changi Airport. Touch down the plane and take the MRT home.
BEDOK - the name Bedok came from malay word Bedoh, a slit drum for calling people to mosques. Bedok form up the 5th new town in the 80's and Bedok Town centre include a large bus interchanges, retails shops, library, hawkers centres (sell $2 or less good yummy food). Older town in singapore with include Kaki Buki Industrial Estate....
KEMBANGAN - name come from malay. Mostly Kembangan street names made from , Jalan or Lorong. Higher residential area made up the Kembangan vincinty. Kembangan Plaza is one place where the resident made their shopping there.
EUNOS - its history is a Malay kampong which was built by founder Mohammad Eunos in 1920s. It was then a place for the Malays only but after independence, it became a mixed culture place. Bus interchange is just down the MRT and there are many autocars industries here. Small retails shops and coffee shops were seen in Eunos. Still, Malay culture is strong here.
PAYA LEBAR and ALJUNIED - Paya Lebar means "wide swamp" in Malays. It was a poultry area and was founded by Richard Owen Norris. Paya Lebar is a goat city in fengshui that is ideal for business. It would be better if nature landscape is to be built here. Tanjong Katong Complex, City Plaza are some major landmarks around Paya Lebar MRT. Malay Bazaar is held here every year during Hari Raya Season, there is also a Malay Village here. Aljunied is named after Syed Omar Ali Al Junied who died in 1852. He built and donate to mosques and hospitals. This place had a hot battle over election once. Aljunied Ave 2 Blk 117 is a place for makan lovers.
KALLANG -- Kallang refer to Malay word Orang Laut.Also means mills or factory. Kallang is join by it river called Kallang Basin. It blue gas work pipes still remain as a trademark in Kallang. Watersports is held here, but in fengshui the river is inauspicious. National Stadium, Singapore Indoor Stadium , Singapore Cricket Club are here for international tournament. This place is going to be develop into Singapore Sports Hub. Geylang Lor 1 bus terminal is just below the MRT and there is shopping at the stadium walk.
LAVENDER - Lavender refer to a purple flower that is not modern nor trendy, this reflect the place Lavender in Singapore also. Lavender in the early was vegetables and sugarcane farms owned by chinese immigrants. Today olden HDB houses still are there, and the ICA Building is the trademark of lavender areas.
BUGIS - history of a red light districts consists of transvestities in the 1950s, pasar malam shopping is its trademark. Now consists of a Parco Bugis Junction, Bugis Village and its nearby Kwang Yin Godness of Mercy Temple and Hindu Temple. At Bugis Village, cheap fashion for teenagers and snacks, fruits can be found here. Nearby Waterloo Street hawker centre is currently undergoing renovation. Head on to Bugis for unlimited shoppings and local delights.
CITY HALL & RAFFLES PLACES - city hall mrt beneath 2 exits, A to Citylink, Raffles City, Suntec, Esplanade, Marina Square....B to Funan, Padang, Supreme Courts....City Hall is located in front of the Padang also known as Muncipal Building. The MRT line serve as a interchange for east west and north south line. Raffles Place is located south of mouth Singapore River, founded by Sir Stamford Raffles. It was named Commercial Square then. Banks were set up earliest by HSBC and Standard Chartered, later on with many more banks. Republic Plaza, UOB Plaza One, OUB Centre 3 tallest buildings in singapore. Interchange also for MRT, The Singapore Exchange, Lau Pa Sat, Clifford Pier, Victoria Threatre and Concert Hall, Empress Place, Boat Quay, Fullerton Hotel are also Raffles landmarks. On weekday, it is the business world on the Raffles Square when you exit from the mrt.
TANJONG PAGAR - original name for tanjong pagar is said to be a fishing village, place for chinese and indian dock workers whom had migrated to singapore. Now in surroundings areas include the railway station to malaysia, international plaza, maxwell food market,tanjong pagar plaza and cantonment road etc.
OUTRAM PARK - an interchange for North East and East West MRT line. station is furnished with artistic paintings works. History of Outram named in 1858 by British general, Sir James Outram. Areas in Outram Park include People Parks, Chinatown, General Hospital, CNB....
TIONG BAHRU - old hdb estates in Singapore, its street named after chinese pioneers. Flats design anique, rounded balconies, flat rooftop...During Pre WW2, area for upper class living.Now is a bustling town with old residents. Famous for Tiong Bahru Plaza and the nearby renovated Tiong Bahru Market in 2006. Food delights such as Kwee Kuey, Buns, Prawn Noodle....are found in the market.
REDHILL - mrt station painted pink red as its name.hilly hills in the history of redhill, Silat road, Jalan Bukit Merah, Alexandra road are some of its surrounding areas, local foods can be found on Alexandra Village, Bukit Merah Central, Jalan Bukit Merah View,ABC Brickworks.
QUEENSTOWN - 1st statelite town in Singapore. many sub zones such as Margaret Drive, Mei Chin, Queensway..., named after Queen Elizabeth in 1953. It consists of typical low rise walk up flats. Pre 1942, the place was people living in attap houses, growing vegetables, fruits, rearing pigs and chickens. Landmarks areas include the former bowling centre, the demolished TAI CHONG EMPORIUM, relocated Golden Crown Restaurants and its squatter like hawkers. Food delights can still be found here.
COMMONWEALTH, BUONA VISTA & DOVER - Yellowish brown MRT station. Commonwealth famous for its foods at Blk 117,119,123,124 and 125 Commonwealth Crescent and its Commonwealth Drive Tanglin Halt Market. Buona Vista - means good sight in italian. Nearby amenties includes Ministry of Education, Swimming pool and the Ghim Moh estates which is famous for its hawkers foods. Dover , the newest MRT station in the west is specially tailored for Singapore Polytechnic students to quick access to other parts of Singapore.
CLEMENTI - named after Sir Cecil Clementi Smith. governor of Straits settement from 1887 - 1893. It was once a squatter, occupied by British army Barracks. Many tietiary school such as NUS , Ngee Ann Poly, ITE Clementi.....and Primary,Secondary Schools. Clementi Town centre includes shops , hawkers local delights....Commonwealth and Eng Wah Empress Cineplex closed down and the Clematis will be ready in 2010. It tradesmarks include a big clock outside the shops and its teared down water fountain.
JURONG EAST - interchange for eastwest and northsouth line. Below the station is a spacious red roof trademark bus interchanges. IMM and Jurong Entertainment Centre provide shopping and leisure delights for the residents there such as Giant, Daiso, Cinema, Ice Skating...... Also is a International Business Park for mainly IT products and also a Science Centre for discovery. Jurong East and Jurong West is separate by only a river.
CHINESE GARDEN, LAKESIDE & BOON LAY - CHINESE GARDEN, a mrt station near to Chinese Garden & Japanese Garden. Opposite is a famous coffeeshop for muslims eatery and a Jurong East stadium and swimming pool. Lakeside mrt is crowded always in the mornings where many bus from Jurong Industrial will fetch their workers and went straight to their workplace. Lakeshore condo is nearby and opposite the MRT station is a walking distance into Boon Lay Shopping centre and rented houses for foreign workers. Boon Lay mrt is the station where u would find seats if u decide to take the train to other places. It is the first station on east west line and below is a bus interchange undergoing renovation and also Jurong Point where there is libraries, fast foods, fashion, cinema.....It is one of the old estates in Singapore.
BUKIT BATOK & BUKIT GOMBAK - Bukit Batok means Hilly Granites or Coconuts. Below the mrt station is a bus interchange now for SMRT, previously for SBS. also West Mall for its residents. There is also a polyclinlic nearby. Bukit Gombak mrt located Bukit Batok road and it besides is the Little Guilin and Bukit Gombak stadium. Little Guilin is said to be a quarry place and workers blast their workpieces to now as a magnificent sight can be well compared to China Guilin. At night, avoid this place as it is cold and errie.
CHUA CHU KANG & YEW TEE - Chua Chu Kang history is a villange river bank with immgrants from Teochew. Kang means river and a clan member named Chu rules that place. It is place for growing ganmi and pepper before it make way for development. Lot 1 shoppers mall, Sunshine Place, Limbang Plaza are just some of the vincinty shoppings. Yew Tee means oil pond in Teochew. It is a place for storing oil under the Japan Occupation. People moved out and now consists of new flats and condo. Most family here are young couple.
KRANJI & MARSILING - Kranji named after a local tree Keranji because of its rapid growth of the trees in this area. Kranji was a military camp before japan invansion, now a War Cemetery and War Memorial. Not to forget Singapore Turf Club. Marsiling consists of HDB houses , shop and coffeshops. It nearby amenties are Marsiling Primary School, Hostel One66, Woodlands Polyclinlic.
WOODLANDS, ADMIRALTY & SEMBAWANG - Woodlands was founded on 1823 as a trading port, It had a city filled with HDB housing colors and also a part of countryside feeling. One of Singapore largest shopping mall, Causeway Point is located just beside the MRT. SMRT regional bus interchange is also located here. Singapore 1st sports schools is also located at woodlands avenue 2. Tietary education include newest Poly, Republic Polytechnic and Innova JC. Also a Woodlands Town Gardens. Admiralty MRT nearby places include Woodlands Industrial Estate and some houses, named after former british naval base. Sembawang MRT is situated just above Sembawang Bus interchange and also Sun Plaza. Sembawang named from a tree Kayae ferruginea. bawang means onion in Malay. Former during colonial times, Sembawang was a major British naval port base after that 1968 convert into a Sembawang corporation Shipyard. Sembawang roads are still named after Royal Navy Dockyards such as Wellington, Canberra....Nearby also has Sembawang Shopping centre and Sembawang Park.
YISHUN, KHATIB & YIO CHU KANG - Yishun named after the pineapple and rubber Lin Nee Soon 1879. He opened up Sembawang. Nee Soon was change to Yishun to replace dialect names. Northpoint Shopping Centre which hold a library, golden village cinema and more is the area where Yishun residents enjoyed. Chong Pang city, a distance away from the Neighbourhood 1 is a busiest centre with shophouses,7- Eleven, Macdonalds, hawker and market. Lottery 1st prize seen to strike there often. For sports ,there are Yishun stadium and Swimming Complex. Yishun Industrial Park is located between Ave 6 and 7. Khatib MRT is located between Yishun Ring Road and Yishun Ave 2. and is one of the longest route to the next MRT station Yio Chu Kang. Yio Chu Kang is named after an chinese immigrant Mr Yeo who built his house CHU by a river KANG. Here consists of HDB and condo.MINDS a inellectually disabled school of singapore is located here and Nanyang Polytechnic is within the vincinty.
ANG MO KIO - the name Ang Mo Kio refer to hokkien phrase Western Bridge. Thids place is formally the location for Kou -teu Kio, nine bridge. history about wife of Lord Windsor had huge estate in Upper Thomson, she and her children were lost in woods and her child body founded after that, 1 daughter however not found but she heard her daughter cries by the bridge and Lady Windsor want to accompany her daughter soul and will be at the bridge every then. After Lady Windsor pass away 1963, the girls cries stopped. The bridges still can be seen between Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 and upper thomson road. Now Ang Mo Kio is a bustling town with shops, library and many amenties. AMK Hub and its bus interchange provide resident shopping and travel convenience.
BISHAN AND BRADDELL - this mrt station is the only station that is built on the road. It is often described as a haunted station because of it former ground was Pi San Ting a chinese immigrant cemetery. When Circle line completed, Bishan will serve as one of the interchange. Down the station is Junction 8 and Bishan bus interchange. Braddell is the interlink between Bishan and Toa Payoh.
